Due to the "cloudy" day on August 17th, the event will be postponed to Saturday, August 31st
Come and look through a Hydrogen Alpha and a White Light telescope to safely view the Sun with Marc Stowbridge. The Hydrogen Alpha telescope will show surface eruptions and features of the Sun. The White Light telecsope will show Sun Spots. To preveiw what you may possibly see, check out the link to view "The Sun Now - NADA SDO". SDO stands for Solar Dynamics Observatory, which is in obrit around the Earth.
More about Marc Stowbridge:
Marc is a member and past president of the New Hampshire Astronomical Society, a NASA/JPL volunteer educator through the Solar System Ambassador Program. He created the Library Telescope Program, and he has been providing solar observing for visitors at the Castle in the Clouds for 10 years.
