Walk the Pathway: Haikus & Poetry

"To think it to know: how to find the truths of life. Pathway to the mind."

Quoted from musician & poet Wayne Peabody.

In his presentation, Wayne will read and discuss several of his haikus and poems, which were written based on his thoughts and observations throughout his life. He will also play seven musical instruments, including a classical guitar, an acoustic steel string guitar, a Native American flute, a five-string Celtic banjo, a mandolin, and his fiddle.

Since most of his journeys were woven through the thread of his musical career, Wayne will play several of his instruments, which intertwine the theme of his book. With his blend of music and haikus, the listener will have the pleasure to listen, think, and ponder the meaning of Wayne’s written observations. By opening the mind, the listener has the freedom to make his own decisions and choices as to what it all means.

The opportunity and ability to think is an individual privilege and right that must not be lost. Wayne’s book and presentation emphasize the importance of this process in the themes of nature, truth, and knowledge.

“Keep an open mind

It’s the way to learn the truth

Which can then shine through.”

“To think is to know

How to find the truths of life

Pathway to the mind.”

“Think deep and read all

Your library supports you

 In thought and reason.”
