Haunted Hikes of New Hampshire (2nd Edition)

Portsmouth, NH. Author Marianne O’Connor first published “Haunted Hikes of New Hampshire” in June 2008.  (Publishing Works, Exeter, NH). Now in its’ 4th printing, this popular book has sold over 10,000 copies. The 2nd edition includes four additional chapters of New Hampshire legends, ghost stories and unusual mysteries sure to inspire (and spook) young and old. All eighteen chapters include ghostly tales, maps, illustrations, photos and hiking legends: one ghost for an easy hike, four ghosts indicate a difficult one.

O’Connor set out to create a book that would encourage children and adults to discover and explore New Hampshire’s wilderness; through stories and mysteries, passed on in folklore and mountain legend.

·         Are ghosts real?

·         Were there really “witches” in New Hampshire and Maine?

·         Is there a Sasquatch living in the Ossipee Mountains?

·         Have aliens visited New England?

 

These questions and more are covered in “Haunted Hikes of New Hampshire”, children and adults will want to find out for themselves through adventure and discovery.  This Fall discover New Hampshire’s unique and supernatural history.

This free talk will cover spooky local stories, with the option to purchase a signed copy of the book.
