What's Happening

Old-growth forests are relatively rare in New Hampshire. This presentation on April 30th at 6:00 pm in the Ham Room, will describe how to recognize the unique physical characteristics, important ecological attributes, and wildlife that favor such forests, and their importance as carbon reserves to help cool our planet. We will finish with a visual tour of several of the finest old-growth forests across our state, where ancient trees are a source of awe and inspiration.
Join us on April 28th at 6:30 PM in the Ham Room to celebrate National Poetry Month with local poet Courtney Peare and her debut collection, "Bolton Strid." Experience themes of grief and acceptance through her powerful readings, followed by a Q&A and book signing. Don't miss this chance to connect with poetry! Copies of "Bolton Strid" will be available for purchase.
This program presents an exciting opportunity to explore the fascinating world of the paranormal. Ronny LeBlanc’s insights into UFO sightings and Bigfoot encounters in New England are sure to enrich our understanding of these intriguing phenomena. The historical backdrop of Massachusetts, particularly the ongoing mysteries surrounding Leominster State Forest, provides a compelling context for the discussion. Additionally, the chance to engage with Ronny during the Q&A session and have him sign his books adds a personal touch for fans and enthusiasts. Overall, this experience promises to be both enlightening and memorable! This program is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Library
