Most materials check out for three weeks (21 days). In order to avoid overdue notices, be sure to note the due date of materials you borrow on the corresponding due date slip.
Item Loan Period
7 days; these popular new releases often are requested by others
14 days; Conway Public Library card not required
21 days; borrower agreement required and no renewals
21 days; varies with lending institution
Although the Conway Public Library does not charge fines, we do request that you return materials by their due date. If you are tardy returning materials and feel guilty, you may feel inclined to donate to our Guilt Alleviation Jar which is kept at the Check Out Desk.
Looking for materials that we don't own? If you are a Conway Public Library cardholder in good standing, we will try to borrow materials for you from another library in New Hampshire. For more information, please visit our Interlibrary Loan page.
Online Account & Database Access
You may access your library account from home via the Internet. You will need your library card number as well as a personal pin number. Pin numbers are created in person when registering for a library card. If you need to change your pin number, please ask for assistance at the Check Out Desk.
You also may access certain databases, including downloadable books through Overdrive, from home via our website using your library card number. For more information about our databases, please click here.
For more information about using your library card via the Internet, visit the Use Your Card from Home section of our web site.
Placing a Hold
Cardholders in good standing may reserve materials that are currently checked out to another patron or in-processing within the library. We will call you when the item is ready for pickup. All reserve items are kept at the Check Out Desk. If you have given us your email address, you also will receive an e-mail reminder that the item you requested is now available.
Be sure to check the due dates for the items you have on loan. Due dates are listed on the slip inside the front of the material. Overdue notification via mail or email is provided by the Library as a courtesy.
You may renew materials two times as long as the item has not been requested by another patron. As each loaning library is guided by its specific rules, interlibrary loan materials may or may not be able to be renewed. Please call us at 603-447-5552 if you wish to renew materials.
Materials may be returned to the book drop located at the Check Out Desk inside the library during regular operating hours. The library also has an outside book drop on the west side of the building just before entering the south entrance. Please note: Due to the location of the book drop, patrons must park their vehicles and walk to it.
